Sunset rides are arranged by request, not booked from a calendar. Name an evening and a rider count; the riding centre answers with a collection time, a figure and whether that date is still open. There is no price on this page because we have not been given one to publish — a sunset ride is priced per booking and may differ from the €40 standard hour.
Why the evening ride is different
Heat is the whole reason. On this coast in summer the middle of the day belongs to the sea, and the last hour before the sun goes is when the country behind Side becomes comfortable again — for the riders and, more to the point, for the horses.
The light does the rest. Low sun through pines is the photograph people actually keep, and the shoreline stretch at that hour looks nothing like it does at noon.
What to expect
- The same riding centre, the same horses and the same staff as the daytime hour.
- The same matching of rider to horse, the same helmet, the same briefing before anyone mounts.
- A start time built backwards from sunset, which moves through the season — which is precisely why it cannot be printed here as a fixed clock time.
- Hotel transfer arranged as part of the booking, confirmed with your time.
Sunset moves by well over two hours between midsummer and midwinter on this coast.
What we will not tell you
We cannot tell you the price, because the riding centre has not given us one.
We cannot tell you it runs every evening, because we have not been told that either. And we will not promise you a particular sky. It is weather.
What you get instead is a real answer from the people who will actually run the ride.
If the evening is not free
Then you have two good options and we will say so plainly: take the standard hour, which has a published price and an open calendar, or try the other end of the day. The sunrise ride is the same idea with cooler air and the first light instead of the last.

Questions guests ask
Can I ride at sunset or sunrise?
Yes, but not as part of the standard hour — they are separate departures the riding centre arranges for the date you want, and it quotes the price when it confirms. Send us a date and we will come back to you.
Do I need riding experience?
No. Most guests on this ride have never been on a horse. The staff pair you with a suitable horse, explain how to sit, steer and stop, and a guide rides with the group the whole way.
What is the minimum age?
2. Riders under 2 cannot be booked. Whoever brings a child does not have to ride themselves. On the standard hour, children aged 2 to 10 pay the same €40 as an adult.
What should I wear?
Long, comfortable trousers and closed shoes you can walk in. Leave the flip-flops, sandals and anything with a heel at the hotel, and skip loose scarves or anything that flaps.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Horse riding is outdoors. In heavy rain, a storm, extreme heat or unsafe ground the riding centre may change the route, move the time or reschedule you. Safety and the horses' condition come before the timetable.
